Cheese Tastings

Cheese made in Piedmont is now competing with the best of France: goat, sheep, cow and blends thereof: from Testun and Montemagno high in the Western Alps, to the row goat milk of our best “Tuma”, from Lower Monferrato and Alta Langa.

A small farm in Alta Langa is one of the best example of a family run farm making excellent raw goat and ship cheese.

Alessandro and Arianna, run such  farm. Alessandro was passionate with Alta Langa and with agriculture. Arianna was passionate with producing food. They met and Pascoli di Amaltea was born in 2007. At the beginning, there were 16 hectares of meadows and woods, 20 sheep and a beautiful stone house. Regenerative agriculture is their inspiration. Arianna and Alessandro Now raise sheep, goats, chickens, bees and grow apple trees in the pastures: they provide more shade for the sheep and goats.
Their production of cheese is seasonal and respects goats and sheep’s natural breeding cycle. The animals are milked from spring to autumn. Today the farm produces raw-milk cheese, apple cider and honey.

Tasting Piedmont’s cheese is one of the activities our guests like the most. Camomplin organizes  these visits (some requiring the payment of a fee).
